I'm working on setting up a WiFi mesh network and need to get a node inside my pole barn. I plan to attach an outdoor weatherproof unit to the exterior wall and run both an Ethernet cable and a power cable through the metal wall. I'm considering waterproof cable glands, but I'm worried the AC plug won't fit through the hole. What's the best way to get these cables through the wall safely and effectively? Is there a specific device I should be looking for?

Have you thought about using Power over Ethernet (PoE)? That way, you'd only need to run the Ethernet cable to the unit, which simplifies things. You could install a PoE injector somewhere convenient for both power and Ethernet, so you wouldn’t need to worry about a separate power cable at all.
Cutting the plug off your power cable and replacing it with a new one from a hardware store is an option. Just remember, don't run the power and data cables through the same gland to prevent interference. Keep them separate!
You might want to consider using a "weatherhead" for this setup. It provides a good entrance for cables and keeps everything weatherproof. But seriously, if you're not confident, it's worth hiring an electrician to ensure everything is done safely and up to code.
