Best Way to Seal Painted Wood Carvings for Outdoor Use?

I recently bought a beautiful painted wood carving for my husband, but he's hesitant to put it outside until we find a way to seal it. Can anyone suggest what product would work best for sealing?

Definitely look at using lacquer or varnish! Just make sure you choose one that’s rated for outdoor applications, as that’ll help protect it from the elements. Also, keep in mind the glossiness level so it looks just right in your yard!

The paint itself can act as a seal, though it might not be the most durable option. If you're looking for something clear to strengthen it, consider a clear coat spray or another layer of clear varnish to provide better protection.

You can use lacquer or varnish to seal your wood carving. Just be sure to check if it's suitable for outdoor use and pay attention to the glossiness level you want. Some finishes can be really shiny, while others are more matte.
