Hey everyone! I'm trying to improve the air quality in my basement shop by adding an air filter, but the ceiling is really low. I want to avoid drilling into the joists because I'm a bit cautious about that. I'm considering placing the filter on a dedicated table with wheels so I can easily move it around depending on where I'm working. Is this a good idea, or are there any downsides to that setup?

Putting the air filter on a table is totally doable! I've got mine set up like that, and it sits right between my two main sources of dust. It makes it easy to keep the air cleaner without hitting your head on low ceilings. I was curious about your concerns with the joists—is it mainly for headroom? They can hold a fair amount of weight, so hanging from them is generally safe. A small bolt shouldn't harm the structure.

Yeah, it's definitely a headroom issue for me. I just know I’d be bumping into it all the time!
