I have a shipping container that needs to be stuccoed to match my home, according to city regulations. I don't want to build a structure around it, and I'm concerned that traditional cement stucco would be too heavy. I'm looking for a lightweight solution—ideally an acrylic spray with a stucco texture that can adhere to the painted metal.
One idea I have is to use foam board to create a stucco-like surface. I'd adhere it to the container and then paint it for waterproofing. I'm wondering what adhesive would work best for this, and if acrylic stucco can adhere to the foam board without needing chicken wire. I want to keep it as simple as possible without the heavier layers of EIFS. Any thoughts or product suggestions would be appreciated!

Hey, have you checked if your zoning laws actually require you to stucco the container? It might not be necessary!
