Best Ways to Black Out My White Smartwatch?

Asked By EpicGamer99 On

I recently purchased the white version of the Epix Gen 2 Sapphire because it was on sale, but now I'm having second thoughts. The white color feels too flashy for me, and I'd prefer something darker for a more serious look. I'm looking for permanent solutions to turn the white shell black, whether it be through painting, chemical treatments, or coatings. I would love some DIY advice, but I want to make sure it doesn't wear off easily. What's the best approach?

Trying to paint or use coatings isn't the best idea; they'll likely chip off after a while. Your best bet for a long-lasting finish would be anodizing, but keep in mind you'll need to fully disassemble the watch for that. Alternatively, it's worth considering just selling it and buying a black version instead—sometimes it’s better to cut your losses!

Honestly, just selling it and buying a used black watch is a straightforward option! It saves you the hassle of DIY efforts that might not give you the results you want.

If you're feeling adventurous, some people joke about using methods like burning it or applying acid, but I wouldn't recommend those! They could seriously damage your watch. If you're set on DIY, stick to safer, tried-and-tested methods.
