Best Ways to Buy Compost in Bulk in London

Hey fellow gardeners! I'm just starting my gardening journey here in the UK and I'm wondering if anyone knows of good ways to purchase compost in larger quantities without spending a fortune on those small bags from the garden centre. I live in London and have a decent-sized garden that I need to mulch. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to look into buying compost in tonne bags. Just do a quick search for compost and topsoil delivery services in your area—it's a great way to get bulk without the hassle of multiple trips to the store!

Check out Amazon; they often sell those big bags at decent prices. Plus, they deliver right to your door, so you won’t have to worry about transporting them yourself. Sometimes they offer discounts if you purchase a few bags at once, like buying 6 or 9 to get a better deal.

Thanks for the tip! That's great to know about the bulk discount!

Also consider local resources! You can ask at stable yards, city farms, and even community composting projects for spent mushroom compost. Sometimes, city parks departments offer Christmas tree mulch, and you can even request wood chips from local tree surgeons. Just keep in mind that some of these options might need some time to break down before using in your garden.
