I recently moved into an upper-floor apartment, and I'm concerned about my very wide living room window. My kids are 8 and older, but I want to make sure they are safe and can't fall out when the window is open. Does anyone have suggestions for securing such a large window? There are casement windows on each side, which adds to the challenge.

One suggestion is to install child locks up high on the windows so the kids can't reach them. That way, even if they’re opened, they won’t be able to manipulate them. Just make sure the locks are accessible enough for adults to use but out of reach for little ones!

That’s a great idea! You could also consider adding a window stop, so the windows can only open a few inches. It's good for ventilation while keeping the kids safe.
