Best Ways to Get Rid of Tire Marks on Vinyl Floors?

Asked By SillyPenguin97 On

I'm struggling with some stubborn black rubber marks on my vinyl flooring that I think came from a wagon. I've already tried a bunch of stuff like magic erasers, tennis balls, Goo Gone, peroxide, vinegar, baking soda, and even a pencil eraser, but nothing seems to work! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like those tire marks are really stuck! I honestly think you might need to physically scrape off the rubber. Chemicals usually won't work on tough rubber. Grab a small nylon or plastic scraper or a putty knife that's about 1/2 to 1 inch wide. Once you get the bulk of it off, you can try using a magic eraser to tackle any leftover residue.

Without seeing how bad those marks are, it does sound like they might have set into the floor a bit. If the scraping method doesn't fully do the trick, try to be careful with whatever tool you use to avoid damaging the vinyl. Good luck!
