Best Ways to Handle Water Damage from a Faucet Leak

Hey there! I discovered that my kitchen faucet has been leaking for about three days, and it's left a puddle under the sink. I noticed it because the flooring made a 'mushy' sound when I pressed on certain spots. When I felt around, I could see the flooring panels starting to raise and a little water seeping through the joints when I applied pressure. I've replaced the faucet and have been running three fans for the last two days over the suspected wet spots and under the sink. The mushy sound has gone, but I'm still seeing tiny amounts of water leak through some seams. I live in California, and my house was built in 2020 with concrete underneath the floorboards. I'm not sure if the builders used any moisture barrier. Is there anything else I can do to tackle this issue? Thanks for your help!

Running a couple of dehumidifiers is a great way to help dry things out quickly. They can really speed up the drying process and prevent further damage. You might want to check local rental places for one if you don't own one already. Just make sure to set it up in the general area; it'll help absorb moisture from all around, not just right above the wet spots.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely consider renting one and setting it up nearby.
