Best Ways to Insulate Garage Doors Without Replacing Them

Hey everyone! I've got two solid garage doors at my new place, but unfortunately, they're uninsulated, and that's a big deal since they're right below my living, dining, and kitchen areas. I'm wondering if there's a way to insulate them without having to invest in new doors. Could I use thicker insulation board or something similar? What do you all think?

Yeah, you can find insulation kits specifically for garage doors that stick right onto the panels. Just keep in mind, adding weight might mean you'll need to adjust the torsion springs, which is definitely best left to a pro.

I helped a buddy insulate his garage with that silver insulation stuff you can get in rolls at places like Lowes and Home Depot. After we put it up, he was able to run an air conditioner in there! Totally transformed the space.

I actually cut EPS sheets to fit my uninsulated garage door's channels and used construction adhesive to hold them in place. Also, I stapled Reflectix between the panels. It really improved the temperature in my garage—made it so much more bearable to work in there!

That sounds like a great DIY solution! I've seen Reflectix really help with insulation.
