I'm renting, so I want to be careful not to overspend on insulation. My garage measures about 350 sq ft and has no insulation at all. I've just bought an 8000 BTU window A/C unit, but I'm wondering what areas I should prioritize for insulation to make it work more effectively. Should I focus on the garage door, the exterior concrete wall, or the attic space? I get that ideally, I'd insulate everything, but since I don't own the place, I need to be realistic. Also, should I consider upgrading to a more powerful A/C unit, like a 10k or 12k BTU?

I’d say start with the attic space first! Keeping your garage well-sealed is key, so making sure the garage door is insulated is also important. Check the edges of the door for light leaks, as they might need weather stripping or a threshold seal to keep the heat out. Just make it as airtight as you can, and it should help a lot!

What about the concrete walls? Should I be super worried about those letting in heat compared to the attic?
