Best Ways to Isolate a New Philodendron in a Plant-Filled House?

I recently bought a large philodendron from a local nursery and want to isolate it to make sure it's pest-free before introducing it to my home. However, I live in Missouri where the weather is a bit unpredictable, and I'm not sure where to keep it since I have plants in every room. Any tips on where to safely isolate it?

If you've got a grow light, consider putting your philodendron in a bathroom or closet for its isolation period. It might sound sad, but it works! Just make sure to use a clear container or bag that can seal shut, and once it's all good, you can move it by a window. I once used an old clear bag from my comforter for a similar situation!

I literally have no clear bags apparently so I'll try the grow light in the bathroom method!

You're definitely not asking a dumb question! A trick I learned is to use extra-large clear bags, like the kind meant for storing clothes. They keep your plant isolated while letting you see if any bugs are around. It's a great way to monitor your new philodendron!

Good plan!
