Best Ways to Keep Wild Pigs Away from My Garden?

I'm about to plant some new flowers and veggies in my garden, but I'm really worried that wild boars might come in and munch on them or trample everything. Since I now live in a tightly packed neighborhood, actually shooting them isn't an option anymore. I've even tried trapping them to relocate but honestly, that just turns into a hassle. Is there a specific plant I can put around my property that pigs really dislike? Or maybe other methods to keep them away?

An electric fence could be your best bet! With a simple, affordable fencing setup, you just need to make sure it’s properly wired. Pigs are pretty clever, and after one shock from the fence, they’ll likely think twice about coming near your garden again.

Why not just put up a proper fence? I mean, shooting doesn’t seem like a good idea with neighbors around. If they aren’t an invasive species, finding a humane way to keep them out seems smarter—like a sturdy fence to protect your plants.

If the wild boars are hanging out in your neighborhood, it might be worth chatting with your local city council. You might not be the only one dealing with this issue—community action could lead to a better solution than just trying to handle it solo.
