Best Ways to Protect My Plants While Rebuilding a Fence?

Hey everyone! We're planning to replace our fence next to the neighbor's yard in about three weeks. I have two well-established roses and several smaller plants right by the fence that I really want to save. Should I leave them where they are and hope the workers won't damage them, or would it be better to dig them up and pot them for safety? Any advice would help, especially since I'm still pretty new to gardening. Thanks a lot!

I hear you! Builders can be tough on greenery. If you have any large pots or garden tubs, try using those to cover your plants while the work is going on. Just be careful with taller plants since that won’t help them much. It's great that you're thinking ahead!

I’ll definitely give that a go for the smaller ones. Thanks for the advice!

Honestly, I'd recommend digging them up. In my experience, fence workers can be pretty rough on nearby plants, and it's better to be safe than sorry! Just make sure to do the transplant carefully and keep them well-watered afterward. Good luck!

I’m totally nervous about transplanting, but I guess you’re right. Thanks for the tip!
