I'm getting ready to ship some of my tools from the USA to my workshop in Costa Rica. I found that container shipping is the most affordable option, but I'm worried about the humidity and heat during the weeks at sea. I need to know how to protect my tools effectively to prevent rust and corrosion. Anyone have suggestions?

Paste wax is a great option for protection! It creates a barrier that can prevent moisture from getting to your tools. Just make sure to apply a good layer before shipping.
WD-40 might be easier to find than Cosmolene and can work, though it's typically better for storing tools rather than shipping. For heavier-duty shipping, something like Cosmolene is generally recommended. Just make sure whatever you use does a solid job at keeping the rust away.
Cosmolene is pretty much the go-to for shipping tools. It’s used all the time for good reason—why risk trying something else? Just make sure to apply it thoroughly for maximum protection.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely consider going with Cosmolene.

Agreed! WD-40 is nice for quick use, but it might not cut it for long-term protection during a shipment.
