Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on how to keep my southern-facing window from heating up my room too much during the day. My air conditioning just isn't cutting it. I'm hoping to find a quick and affordable solution to reflect sunlight away from the glass. I've heard of using sunlight reflectors, like the ones for car windows, and I'd love to know your thoughts on that or any other effective methods! Thanks in advance!

Reflective window film could be a great solution for you! It really helped me out with my west-facing windows. Just keep in mind that it’s usually a permanent solution, so if you live in a colder climate, it might block some warmth during winter.
I really liked Gila's heat control films; they let in light but keep heat out and give privacy during the day!
Another easy fix is to buy a 4x8 sheet of insulation from Home Depot. Just cut it to the size of your window and stick it in the frame. It’s simple, cheap, and really effective for keeping the heat out.
If you have double-pane glass, be careful with reflective films since they can cause the seals to fail, which might void your warranty. Instead, consider using a white or frosted film that reflects heat while being easy to apply and remove. I recommend checking out something like this frosted static cling option. It works well to keep the heat out without permanently adhering.
