I've been experimenting with various methods to seal the ends of my caulking tubes after using them. I've tried tapes, nails, and even those special plastic inserts, but none of them seem to work well for me. I'm curious if anyone has discovered a reliable technique. Do those little rubber caps or even balloons work effectively? Any suggestions?

I usually stick a wood screw into the tip and then tape over it to create a tight seal. It works like a charm! If you don’t have screws, a golf tee also fits nicely and can create a seal when wrapped with some tape. Just twist it in gently.
Honestly, I just do a quick trick where I clean the nozzle, cover the tube end with plastic, and screw the tip back on. It keeps everything sealed up nicely. I also flip the tube upside down in a jar of water when I’m at home. But on the job site, I stick with electrical tape for sealing.
A golf tee? I’d never think of that! Do you actually have to secure it with tape, too?
