Hey everyone! I'm looking for some tips on how to soundproof my kitchen door without causing any damage, and I want to keep it budget-friendly (under €150). The door is set about 10cm deep into the wall, and while earplugs work a bit, they aren't always enough, and my ears tend to get sore. I plan to add white noise as well. I was thinking about making a wooden insert for the doorframe with foam around the edges, but I'm worried about it falling or damaging the door. Ideally, I'd like a solution that still allows the door to be opened easily from the outside. Any suggestions?

Just a friendly reminder that soundproofing can be tricky, like finding a diet donut! Just set your expectations because it won't be completely silent, but these tips should definitely help reduce the noise.
Have you considered putting up a heavy curtain in front of the door? It can do wonders for dampening sound while also adding a nice touch to the room. Just make sure it's something thick enough to absorb the noise.
The first step is definitely making sure you have a good air seal around the door. Adding quality weatherstripping can really help seal those gaps. You might want to check out this spring-loaded frame seal kit at Home Depot, they’re pretty effective. Also, if your door isn't solid core, consider that too since it makes a big difference in soundproofing. Removing the trim and sealing the space between the frame and wall with foam will also block unwanted noise.
