Hey everyone! My husband and I just bought our first home with a few acres, and it's totally overrun with weeds. We need to clear the front and backyard (about 0.20 acres) for our dogs, and also some pasture land (around 0.5 acres) for our horse. We're looking for quick ways to get rid of these weeds, but we can't use cardboard or plastic as a cover. I've heard that burning might be effective, but I've seen mixed opinions on this. What do you all think? Is burning the best option, or do you have any other suggestions? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking at controlling weeds long-term, you might want to do an initial mow followed by using an herbicide like Pasture Pro which targets broadleaf weeds without harming the grass. Just remember to keep the area mowed regularly to help the grass compete against weeds!
Renting goats is a pretty cost-effective way to deal with weeds! They won't get rid of everything, but they sure know how to help reset the land. Plus, it keeps them company with your horse!
Totally agree! Goats are amazing for managing weeds. They're fun to have around too!
I’ve found that using a mixture of 30% vinegar, salt, and a bit of dish soap works wonders on stubborn weeds. It’s natural and effective!

That's a solid approach! I also like to throw seed down before heavy snow; it helps with early growth in spring.
