Best Window Tint Options for My House?

Asked By CuriousCanine123 On

I'm in a bit of a bind here. My dog has completely wrecked three sets of blinds trying to peek outside, and I can't afford to keep replacing them while saving for better ones. I'm thinking about tinting the windows instead. I want something that keeps the sun out but still allows my dog to see what's going on outside during the day. I live in a vintage 70s trailer, and since I'm just renting and won't be in the place for long, I'm okay with making changes. However, I'm not sure if using automotive window tint will cause any issues or if it'll even be effective. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've used UV film on my windows for years to help with heating costs. It creates a reflective effect during the day, but you won't see much out at night. You can get it in large rolls and apply it inside the windows. It works pretty well!

I’ve got a similar film, and it definitely helps! I’ve thought about car tint for extra privacy too but noticed it’s tough to see through at night.

I haven't done it myself, but the guy who tints my car also offers window tinting for homes. I really don’t see why it wouldn’t work!

Just a heads up, you can use whatever product you like, but stay away from the cheap options. They often don’t hold up well and can look bad over time.
