Best Wire Gauge for a 3000W Pure Sine Inverter?

I'm setting up a 3000W (6000W peak) pure sine inverter, and I'm a bit concerned about safety. The inverter is going to be within 5 feet of the batteries. Should I go for 4/0 or 2/0 gauge wire? If I can't find either, can I safely use two smaller gauge wires instead? I really want to avoid any fire hazards here!

I used bus bars on my inverter and ran equally sized, individually fused cables from each battery to those bars. The wire and fuse sizes were determined based on the maximum amps from the batteries. So, choosing the right gauge is crucial. It really helps with efficiency and safety!

Yeah, before making a final decision, it's good to know your system voltage. If you're using a 12V system, then bigger gauge is definitely needed!
