I don't have a shed for my lawnmower and I'm stuck storing it in the basement, which is a hassle because it's electric and pretty heavy to carry up the stairs. I want to keep it outside since my area is safe, but I can't afford to build a proper shed. I was thinking about constructing a lean-to or a makeshift shed using pallets for the floor and MDF for the walls and roof. Does anyone have advice on this? How can I secure it to the ground? Thanks in advance!

What’s your budget looking like? Just a heads up, MDF really doesn’t cut it outdoors. If you want something a bit sturdier, OSB (oriented strand board) could work. But honestly, maybe just getting a cover for your mower is the simplest solution while you save up for a proper shed later. Building something temporary can be a hassle in the long run!
MDF isn’t a good choice for outdoor use; it’ll fall apart in no time. You might want to consider one of those small plastic sheds. They’re usually more affordable than a full shed and work well. I have a couple for storage, and they hold up really well against the weather. Just watch out for sales—they can often be found for around $200!
You might be surprised at the materials you can scavenge around your area for building! Just keep in mind, staying away from MDF is a must if you’re near moisture. Look into local regulations too; they could have rules on what kind of structure you can put up.
I recommend checking out prefab plastic sheds available on sites like Amazon or Walmart. They often have sales, and you can snag one for under $200, which might end up being super close to what you’d spend on materials if you decide to build your own!

Thanks for the tip! I hadn’t thought of just using a cover for now.
