Building a Cinder Block Wall for My Greenhouse: Any Tips?

Hey everyone! I'm working on a DIY lean-to backyard greenhouse that's about 10' x 12' and will be 8' tall in the back. I'm considering using cinder blocks for the back wall to create thermal mass and plan to fill the block holes with dirt. Has anyone tried this approach? Is it a good idea? Also, do I need to mortar the joints, or can I just stack them? I'd prefer to avoid extra work if possible!

You're gonna want to do a bit of research on how to safely build a block wall. You'll need a solid footer, rebar, and concrete to make it safe at that height. Just stacking the blocks isn't advisable. Remember, there are also greenhouse kits available that can save you some hassle!

Thanks! I'll definitely check into the footer and rebar part. I'm all for DIY, but safety is key.
