Bulk Buying Summer Plants: What’s Your Experience?

Hey everyone! I typically grow my plants from seeds or cuttings, but I'm curious about your experiences with buying plants through mail-order services like T&M or J Parkers. If I decide to order summer bedding and hanging basket plants right now, what condition should I expect them to arrive in? Will they take a few weeks to thrive, or can I expect them to look decent after about a week? If you have any photos of recent orders along with the dates, that would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

I've ordered from a few places:
- Ashwood Nurseries: My hydrangeas arrived in great shape.
- David Austin: The English shrub roses were also in fantastic condition.
- British Roses: They’ve got solid plants and great support.
- Harkness Roses: Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to poor customer service.
- Henry St Nursery: My roses didn’t do well, and support was lacking too.
- One Click Plants: Mostly good condition for my dianthus and pansies.

For roses, I strongly recommend David Austin for exclusivity or British Roses for fantastic value. Ashwood has been excellent for other plants too!

I completely agree about David Austin! Their customer service really impressed me. I had two of their roses planted on either side of an arch, and one was stunted. I reached out with pictures and they sent a replacement rose within two days, free of charge!

I just got some plants from Sarah Raven’s sale, and they arrived in perfect condition! It took about a week total—two days with Yodel delivery. They were well-packaged with just cardboard boxes, no damaged pots at all. Overall, I’m really happy with them!
