Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on lighting for my plants. I recently bought some LED lights for my bookshelf and they're labeled as 6000K white. I'm running out of space on my windowsill and would love to move a few smaller plants onto the shelf. The problem is that those plants wouldn't receive much natural light besides from these LEDs. Are these lights suitable for the plants, or should I look for something different?

So, 6000K just indicates that the light is more like daylight, which is pretty bright, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's great for plants. Plants actually need a specific spectrum of red and blue light for optimal growth. So while your lights might look bright to us, they may not have the right wavelengths that plants require for photosynthesis. You might want to consider grow lights specifically designed for plants if you're looking for healthy growth.
I'm not a pro either, but I read that standard lights can help with some plant growth, just not the best. Regular bulbs usually lack the full light spectrum plants need for thriving. You could see some slow growth with your current setup. If your plants are important to you, it might be worth investing in dedicated grow lights!
