Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a situation here. My neighbor has a wooden fence with a dead wisteria, and since they're renting, they don't really care for the garden. I offered to take out the dead wisteria and plant something new. I have this bittersweet nightshade that I grew from some local fruit. It's about 10cm tall, and I love the splash of purple and red it brings. But I'm wondering, will it climb well around a fence, or is that a bad idea? Any tips?

Just a heads up, bittersweet nightshade doesn’t really climb by itself. It tends to wrap around other plants for support, so it might not look great on its own. If you’re after climbing flowers, consider solanum laxum instead; it’s a better option for climbing!
Yeah, I’ve heard that bittersweet nightshade is more of a ramping plant than a true climber. If you don’t want to buy anything new, maybe try climbing roses? Just keep in mind they might need a proper trellis to really take off.
