My partner and I are managing the cleanup of a severely damaged basement that isn't part of our living area. My partner works a standard Monday to Friday 9-5 job, while I stay home. We've already had one contractor give us an estimate during the week, and they suggested we get a few more opinions. However, I'm facing some mobility issues and I'm not sure how well I can show anyone around. So, I want to know if contractors commonly do estimates on weekends? Also, would it be okay for them to look around without me being there? I might only be able to talk to them from the top of the stairs. Just to clarify, I mean the initial on-site visit used to calculate the estimate, not the finalized estimate itself.

Not a problem at all! A lot of contractors I know are flexible with weekend visits. Just make sure to inform them about your limitations. They’d rather work independently than have someone hovering over them.
Some contractors definitely will, just ask when you reach out! It's common to find flexibility for weekend estimates, and explaining your situation should make things easier.
Yes, many contractors can do estimates on weekends. Just let them know about your mobility issues ahead of time, and they should be fine looking around by themselves. This way, they can effectively assess the situation without needing you to give them a guided tour every moment.
Absolutely, it's pretty common for contractors to come on weekends. Just explain your situation with limited mobility when you set up the appointment. They'll understand and likely prefer to check things out on their own instead of having to check in with you constantly.
Thanks! That’s really reassuring to hear. My last experience felt a bit too hands-on, so I’m glad to know it’s usually more relaxed.
Thank you! If too few contractors are available it might be a red flag, but I’m hoping most will work with our schedule.
