Can I Attach Solar Panels to My Asphalt Shingle Roof Without Drilling?

I built a solar panel holder but now I can't use it for various reasons. The only option left is to adhere solar panels directly to my asphalt shingle roof, which has a 6/12 pitch. Drilling is not on the table for me. Are there any recommended adhesive options for mounting 100-watt, 12v solar panels like those typically found on RVs or tiny houses?

One creative idea is to run rails across the roof, but instead of securing them to the roof itself, you could anchor them to the walls of your house. That way, you avoid drilling into your roof entirely. It’s a bit eccentric, but it could do the job without compromising your shingles.

I've seen ballasted mounts used for dish antennas, but they might not work on a typical roof unless you distribute the weight across a large area. Just gluing the panels down could cause the uplift from wind to rip the shingles off. Consider an approach where you cover the area with plywood glued down and then attach the mounts on top of that. However, keep in mind that many people eventually find that drilling may be the only reliable option.
