I'm heading to Thailand a couple of times a year and usually travel with my Milwaukee tools and batteries. So far, I've only taken 5 Ah and 6 Ah batteries. On my last trip, I brought two M18 8 Ah batteries in my coat pockets, safely zip locked and taped up, which made it through security in Seoul after a bit of inspection. This time, I want to pack two M18 12 Ah batteries, but I plan to connect them to tools in my checked luggage instead of just bringing them as spare batteries. I'm also thinking about bringing two more M18 8 Ah batteries with me in my coat pockets like before. Do you think there's a chance the 12 Ah batteries will get confiscated? Is bringing a total of four high-wattage batteries risky? Considering their cost, I really don't want to lose them on the way to Thailand.

Bringing all four could be pushing your luck! I think you should be good with the 8 Ah batteries in your coat, but definitely do more research on those 12 Ah ones. If you can, reach out to your airline directly. Better safe than sorry with those pricey batteries!
