I recently moved into a new house, and the shower head from the Grohe system started leaking. I suspect it's a bad cartridge, but I'm not very experienced with plumbing. I find Grohe to be quite frustrating and want to know if I can switch to a more accessible brand like Delta. Is it possible to change it out, or will I be stuck with the German brand due to the existing fixture fitting?

Swapping shower heads is usually pretty straightforward since they tend to be universal. However, the valve type you have could be a different story. If you have Grohe valves, you’ll likely need to stick with Grohe trim for your shower. So, you might be stuck with it unless you want to do some serious renovations.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. To change brands completely, you might need to rip out the shower wall to replace the whole valve assembly.
