Can I Combine Two 36” Metal Doors into a Single 72” Door Without Welding?

I'm trying to figure out how to join two metal barn doors that are currently running on separate tracks. I'd like to have them operate as one single 72" door on the same track, but I'm not keen on welding them. Are there any alternatives, like strong adhesives or fastening methods, that could work instead?

From what I've seen, the best way to do this would really be to weld them or bolt them together; anything else probably won't hold up. Adhesives might seem tempting, but they'll likely fail, especially under the weight of the doors. You want something more permanent to ensure they move smoothly together.
