Hey everyone! I'm setting up an off-grid solar system with Signature Solar for my well house. I'll be using an EG4 inverter with two 48V wall mount batteries and a 10-panel array of 425W Gstar panels. Currently, the well house is linked to the grid with its own separate meter. My main question is this: once I disconnect the grid supply, can I run a line from the inverter directly into the outdoor circuit panel that was previously connected to the grid? This panel is about 40 feet away from the well house through underground wiring. Is there anything critical I might be overlooking? I'm fairly new to this, but I'm excited about the setup!

You’re right to think about the distance there! Running directly from the inverter to the outdoor panel is doable, especially since the setup you have already has that panel in place. Most setups have the inverter close by because it’s convenient, but yours sounds like it could work well! Just double-check all the connections and ensure everything is up to code, especially since it’ll be an outdoor setup.
You generally want to connect the grid feed to the inverter first. This way, it can manage solar and battery power efficiently, while still having the option to draw from the grid if necessary. Make sure that your inverter is designed for this kind of setup before proceeding! But if you're going entirely off-grid, it sounds like you might be fine straight from inverter to panel as long as everything is properly rated and safe.
