I have an outlet in my master bedroom that shares a wall with the bathroom. I'm considering daisy chaining a GFCI outlet from that bedroom outlet to install it for my bidet. Will this break any electrical codes or safety principles? If it's okay to proceed, what safety measures should I keep in mind aside from cutting power to the MBR circuit and ensuring the outlet is dead? Is a new work box suitable for this?

Just a heads-up, if the power source is from the master bedroom and you're trying to run it to the bathroom for a GFCI, keep in mind that bathroom circuits usually have specific codes. Generally, a circuit dedicated only to a bathroom shouldn't be sharing with other circuits. So, make sure to double-check local codes to stay compliant!
Daisy chaining outlets is pretty common, so you should be fine installing a GFCI after a standard outlet. Just remember, if you’re working with drywall, you might want to look into using an old work box since it’s designed for finished walls. Also, check out some YouTube tutorials on installing from an existing outlet; they can really help you avoid mistakes!
