Can I DIY Glass Replacement on My Samsung Galaxy S23?

Asked By GadgetGuru99 On

I'm considering replacing the glass on my Samsung Galaxy S23 myself since the repair shop quoted me around $300, which seems a bit outrageous. I saw that there's a suction tool involved for the process, but the toolkit looks pretty complicated. The damage is just in one groove, and I'm curious if products that fill in the cracks would work instead. Any advice or steps to follow? Thanks a lot!

First off, are you talking about the screen glass or the back glass? If you're replacing the screen, it's definitely possible to do it yourself! Check out iFixit for a detailed guide on the process. Most likely, replacing the screen will cost you around $100 if you DIY it. Just keep in mind that if you use non-OEM parts, some features like the fingerprint reader might not work properly after the repair. Good luck!

Totally get why you're considering a DIY route—$300 is a lot! If it's the screen you're looking to replace, you can find replacement kits for about $100. Just watch out for compatibility issues with fingerprint sensors if you go aftermarket. iFixit really is a great resource; you'll find step-by-step guides and YouTube videos that can help. Just take your time, and you might save some cash!
