Can I dump my green bin waste at the tip?

Hey everyone, I have a green bin for yard waste from previous curbside collection services. Since the service got super pricey, I'm left with this bin and need to take my green waste to the local tip myself. Is it okay if I fill up my green bin and bring it to the tip to empty it into the hoppers? I can lift it no problem, but I'm just worried about getting turned away or facing any weird looks since I've never seen anyone do that before.

I'd double-check your local council's website for any specific rules, though guidelines can be kind of vague. It's always good to be sure before making a trip. Generally, they don’t have an issue with it since you're just using a container to transport your waste.

You won't be stopped! Just go for it. If you’re worried about making life harder on yourself by hauling the bin, just remember that the council isn’t going to kick you out over it. I’ve been doing something similar for years with my green bin, even after not paying for collections for a while. They still empty mine every couple of weeks without a hitch.

Hey, don’t sweat it too much! You can definitely take your green bin. In fact, I’ve done the same with my garden waste. Just remember, it’s technically the service you pay for that’s the issue, not just having the bin itself. Just don't forget about vehicle rules at the tip; some places charge extra for larger vehicles.
