Can I Fill Garage Expansion Joints with Self-Leveling Sealant After Epoxy?

I had an epoxy coating applied to my garage floor a couple of months back, and everything turned out really well. The contractors filled the cross-shaped expansion joints with epoxy and flakes, then sealed them with a clear coat, but they didn't add anything else in the joints, which I've learned is usually done. Now, I'm dealing with water pooling in those expansion joints from car drips like AC condensation and rainwater. It's getting annoying because I have to soak it up with a rag every time. So, I'm wondering if I can fill those joints with a self-leveling sealant before tossing some epoxy flakes on top to blend with the floor? My goal is to level those joints so that when I squeegee, the water gets cleared out without the need for a rag.

I get it, that's a lot of water to manage! Yeah, you can fill those expansion joints with self-leveling sealant, like Sika Flex SLS. Just make sure the gap isn’t too large; if it is, you might need to use a backer rod first. Also, be careful that the sealant doesn’t run out onto your driveway! regarding adding those flakes, be cautious. Sika’s decoflakes could get dislodged when you're using a squeegee or sweeping. Plus, if they don’t lay flat, they’ll create some ridges. That could mess with the finish.

Good point about the flakes! Maybe it’s better to skip them altogether and just aim for a smooth surface.
