Can I Fit a 33-Inch Drop-In Sink in a 30-Inch Base Cabinet?

I'm currently remodeling my kitchen and I've got a bit of a size challenge. I can only fit a 30-inch sink cabinet, but I'm wondering if I can get away with installing a larger drop-in sink. I've been thinking that if the sink's bowl is around 29 inches wide, it might work since it would be placed on top of the granite countertop. However, I've come across information saying that the total width for the sink should be less than 28.5 inches for a 30-inch cabinet. Am I completely off here?

It's pretty common to trim the side panels a bit if you need to fit a sink bowl that's wider than the base cabinet. Just make sure that the sink protrusion doesn't interfere with nearby cabinets or the dishwasher, though!

Make sure to check the dimensional diagram! With a drop-in sink, as long as the basin fits and the countertop cutout is positioned correctly, you should be fine! Just confirm your measurements beforehand.

You might want to measure the inside of the cabinet from wall to wall. That way, you’ll know if there’s enough width to fit the sink basin comfortably.

The base cabinet's construction usually allows for about 28.5 inches of clearance due to the 3/4" material, so a 29-inch sink won't fit unless you've got some extra wiggle room. Just a heads up!

Yeah, I totally missed that part! Thanks for the clarification.
