Can I Fit a Drywall Lift in My Honda HRV for Transport?

I'm in the middle of renovating my garage and need to add plywood walls and a ceiling. I'll be renting a drywall lift from Home Depot, but the salesperson warned me it might be too cumbersome to fit in my Honda HRV. I get that it's heavy, but I'm thinking about renting some ramps too. Am I crazy for wanting to lean it on its side in the trunk, or should I just go ahead and rent a pickup truck to make this easier?

Honestly, it’s not as heavy as it sounds! I managed to transport mine in a Honda Fit without any trouble. I think you'll be fine as long as you secure it properly. Just make sure to keep the weight spread out!

Most drywall lifts come apart into smaller sections, usually about 5 pieces, so you should be good to transport it. I've fit one in my Subaru Outback without any issues, and I didn’t even have to fold down the back seats. The longest piece was probably only 4 to 5 feet long. Check out the lift model I linked to for a better idea of the parts you’ll be dealing with!
