I've got a problem with my bathroom door—it's misaligned! I'm wondering if it's something I can fix myself or if I should just hire a handyman. Here's a photo for reference: https://imgur.com/a/PcRp0m0. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks for your help!

It seems like the issue isn’t from the hinges but rather the latch side dropping down, causing it to rub against the top jamb. First, you’ll want to cut the caulk along both sides of the door jamb and carefully pry the casing off—just go slow to avoid breaking it. Then, lift the jamb back into place, add shims to secure it, and reattach the casing. A little caulk and it should look as good as new without needing to paint!

Great instructions! It's really important to take your time with the casing—most people rush it and end up breaking it. Good luck!

I feel you! Handyman work can be a hassle, but depending on what’s wrong, you might be able to fix it yourself. A common issue is when the door comes off the top hinge. Have you heard of the golf tee trick? You basically take the hinge screws out, tap a golf tee into the hole a bit, break it off, and screw it back in. Just be careful not to over-tighten, or you might need a whole new door! Oh, and if you've got kids, maybe they swung off the doorknob? That could cause misalignment too.
