I'm transitioning from growing cannabis to starting a vegetable garden, specifically tomatoes, in my grow tent during the off-season. I've got four Early Girl seedlings that just sprouted and I'm eager to know how to optimize their growth. What are the recommended temperature and humidity levels for growing tomatoes in a tent? Should I provide them with 12 hours of light, like with cannabis, or is a different schedule needed? Also, do I need to keep the tent fully zipped up, or can I leave it slightly open for some basement air circulation? Any insight would be appreciated!

I’d love to follow your journey! Knowing your setup and any maintenance tips would be great. I keep an eye on temp and humidity using monitors, adjusting light and fan speed as needed. And even though my tent only has 45" of height, I've made it work! What lights are you using?
Would love to see pictures of your setup once you've got the tomatoes in there!
Keep your tent temperature above 50°F, and you should be golden! You’ll likely have enough light in Virginia, given you're not blocked by trees or buildings. Try using grow lights for the best results during winter months.
That's good to know! I planned to use grow lights in my basement. That should work!
A lot of growers suggest starting with tomatoes because they share similar growing needs to cannabis, making them great practice. After tasting homegrown tomatoes, you'll find that store-bought ones just don’t compare! Just a heads up, make sure you adjust the nutrients when you switch - tomatoes need less nitrogen during fruiting and different light conditions compared to cannabis.
True that! Homegrown tomatoes have so much more flavor. Restaurant ones are usually picked too early and lack that sweet taste.
Exactly! Once you grow your own, you'll never go back to store-bought.
My setup is still in progress. Right now, I’m focusing on getting my final cannabis crop dried in the tent but will post updates!
