I'm curious if anyone here has ever worked with a traditional solar installation company to set up their own off-grid DIY solar system. I understand the whole DIY concept, but I'm contemplating if it might be worth bringing in a pro for some parts. Any experiences or thoughts?

I had a different experience; I reached out to a pro solar company with my DIY solar gear list but they told me it wouldn't work because my equipment isn't city-approved. They're going to investigate further, though!
Technically, if you're involving a professional, it goes against the concept of DIY since it's usually all about doing it yourself. That said, if you're worried about the wiring and making sure everything connects properly, it could be worth considering a consult with an installer.
Exactly! I have a DIY system too, but I want a pro to double-check the installation, especially since it connects to my main electrical panel.

That’s frustrating! It seems like having the right gear is crucial, plus they need to comply with local regulations.
