I'm looking to dim the recessed light specifically above my shower without messing with the lighting over my vanity, as they're both controlled by the same switch. Is there a way to install a dimmer inline with the existing wiring, perhaps using a potentiometer, and tuck it away in the ceiling?

Absolutely, you can dim LED lights if they're designed for it! Just make sure to put the dimmer in an electrical box for safety and legality. Otherwise, you could consider a lower output light if you want to avoid extra work, but it sounds like you want to keep your current fixture.

Yeah, I've heard that LED lights are generally dimmable. If you go the dimmer route, just check local codes to ensure everything’s up to snuff. Good luck!
