I just bought 150 square feet of interlocking laminate flooring to install in my converted garage, where I'm setting up a barber studio. The existing tile doesn't match my aesthetic, so I'm planning to put the laminate right on top of it. On a scale from 1 to 10, how bad could this turn out? Any tips would be appreciated!

Just a heads up: make sure to get your landlord's approval first! If you're running a business there, they might have concerns about zoning or flooring specs. Laminate needs an even surface; any irregularities can be felt while walking on it. Good luck with the quietwalk subflooring; that should help a lot!
Installing laminate over tile should work out fine! It's removable when you decide to leave, and just make sure the surface underneath is even. Keep in mind that laminate isn't great with moisture, but given your studio setup, that shouldn't be a major issue.
Yeah, you definitely need to check with your landlord about the business and flooring. They might have rules about what you can do. As for the laminate, be mindful of how flat the tile is before laying it down. Even slight gaps can lead to issues.
