I'm dealing with a bit of a problem here. My deadlock has stopped working properly, and I'm wondering if I can just replace that part instead of going through the hassle of replacing the whole door. The deadlock doesn't seem to fit well in the slot in the door frame, and after a recent dust storm, the wind managed to push my locked door open! Any thoughts on this?

Absolutely, you can definitely replace just the deadlock itself or the whole locking mechanism if that's what's failing. It’s a common fix!

That’s true, but since you mentioned that the deadbolt barely catches, it might be worth checking if the door is aligned correctly. Sometimes it’s a simple fix that doesn’t require a new lock.
