Can I Just Turn Off the Light Switch to Change a Fluorescent Tube?

I'm tasked with changing some fluorescent tubes at work, but we have a lot of breakers, and I don't want to accidentally shut off the wrong one. Is it safe to just turn off the light switch and change the bulb like that?

Yes, you can change a fluorescent tube with just the switch turned off. The design keeps the parts that could shock you out of reach, so it's pretty similar to switching a regular light bulb. Just stay clear of the electrifying bits!

I'd say that's okay! Just a tip: tape the switch in the off position and leave a bold note on it that says 'Do Not Touch.' Better safe than sorry at work!

Definitely, it's fine to change the bulb with only the switch off. Just to be cautious, remember that even with the switch off, there might still be some power in the fixture, but you're not likely to touch it while swapping the bulb.
