I just had my first zucchini flower open, and it turns out it's a female! But the males haven't opened up yet. Is it possible to open one of the male buds myself to collect pollen and manually pollinate the female flower? Or would that be a silly move? I'm worried about the flower wilting without producing zucchini!

I actually tried this with some squash earlier this season. When the female flowers opened and the males hadn't yet, I opened a male flower to collect pollen, and it worked! I got fruit from 5 out of 6 attempts! Just keep in mind that the success might vary a bit depending on the variety, but it's definitely worth a shot!
It's such a challenge when you’ve got one flower ready and the rest are not! But don’t stress too much, getting the timing right can be tough. Just hang in there and more flowers will bloom soon!
Just hang tight! In a few weeks, you’ll likely have more zucchini than you can handle without having to do anything special. It’s hard to wait, I know! I've been there with other veggies too, and it can feel like a long wait!
Haha, yeah! I didn't expect how quick they can grow, but once they start, you'll have more than you know what to do with!

Totally feel you! The waiting game is the hardest when you're excited for the harvest.
