Can I Move My Kitchen Cabinets Higher Without Replacing Them?

I have a bit of a dilemma with my kitchen cabinets. They're the original ones from the 70s and were installed really low, which means my coffee maker can't fit on the counter. Is there a way to remove these cabinets and re-install them at a higher position without damaging them, or will I have to get entirely new ones?

It's best to have a buddy help you with this since lifting and holding the cabinet while you screw it can be tricky. Consider using a ledger board to support the cabinets and keep them aligned while you work. Make sure to mark where the studs are on the ledger board before getting started. Clamps can help pull the cabinets together as you screw them in. Good luck!

You can definitely take those cabinets down! Look inside them, and you'll find screws at the back attaching them to the wall and into the studs. There are also screws connecting them side by side. Just unscrew everything and move them up! Easy fix—no need for a complete overhaul.
