Can I Paint Behind a Wall-Mounted TV Without Taking It Down?

I've had a bad experience in the past when I took my TV down to paint the walls, and it ended up breaking during the re-mounting. Now that I've moved to a new place with a dedicated media room, I'm in a similar situation. We mounted the TV quickly after moving in, and I didn't have a chance to paint beforehand. I'm really hesitant to take it off the wall again, so I'm wondering if there are effective tools or techniques to paint behind it without removing the TV. Are there special brushes or rollers I could use to do this?

I've painted behind several TVs, and it's usually pretty straightforward. If there’s enough space, you can use a mini roller, which helps reduce overspray. Just be cautious about drips and check your coverage afterwards. Since it’s not that visible, just do your best and it’ll be fine!

Yes, you can definitely paint behind the TV without taking it off the wall! A great method is to cover the TV with painter's plastic or some trash bags to protect it from any paint splatters. Then grab a small angled brush or a skinny radiator roller to reach that gap. Just use light strokes and don’t overload your brush. It doesn't have to look perfect, as nobody will be able to see behind the TV anyway!

Thank you for the tip! You’re one of the actual few who took my question seriously and responded with how to do this without removing the TV.
