Hey everyone! I'm hoping to refresh my home a bit on a tight budget, and I'm considering painting my gray vinyl plank flooring. I've seen so many beautiful transformations with painted floors, but they all seem to be hardwood. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether painting vinyl is a bad idea? Also, if I do decide to go for it, do I need to sand the floor first, and are those vinyl particles harmful? I'm really open to any better suggestions you might have to make my place feel more homey!

Honestly, painting vinyl floors isn't a great idea. Most of the time, the paint just won't stick, and you'll end up with peeling or chipping. It’s better to find a different option if you can.
While it might seem appealing, I've seen many people say that painting vinyl just leads to more issues down the line. Maybe consider saving up for a replacement instead—your floors would thank you in the long run!
That’s what I think too! If you can afford to hold off, waiting for a proper fix will definitely pay off.

Totally agree! I tried painting a vinyl floor once, and it looked terrible shortly after. It's just not worth the hassle.
