Can I Plant Immediately After Creating a Hugelkultur Bed?

I'm setting up a hugelkultur bed that's 2 feet deep. I've layered leaves and sticks for drainage and plan to top it off with a 50/50 mix of compost and topsoil. I'm wondering, can I plant in it right away, or do I need to wait a season or two? I have a ton of plants ready to go in about 3 weeks, so timing is crucial for me!

No waiting required! I also follow the same method as Millennial Gardener from YouTube, and I plant immediately without any issues. If you're worried about nutrients, consider tossing in some fertilizer or worm castings to give your plants a health boost. By the way, I'm in the same boat—just moved and starting fresh here too!

That's great to hear! I have some blood and bone meal I could use. Thanks for the tip!
